Dental implants in Turkey are artificial roots and teeth (usually titanium) that are surgically placed into the upper or lower jaw bone. The replacement teeth attached to implants are very natural looking and often enhance or restore a patient’s smile!
What are dental implants used for
Dental implants are used for supporting one or more false teeth, it is also possible to have a full set of implants. It is a titanium screw that can replace the tooth root when it fails. A dental implant procedure places the screw as a substitute for a tooth root into the jawbone.
What are dental implants?
A dental implant is a titanium metal rod that is placed into the jawbone. It is used to support one or more false teeth. In practice, both the false teeth and their supporting rod are known as ‘implants’. It provides stable support for one or more artificial teeth, sometimes even a full set. Dentures and bridges supported by implants won’t slip in your mouth, which is an important benefit when eating and speaking. This secure fit helps the dentures and the bridges feel more natural than conventional bridges and dentures.

Frequently Asked Question
Implants are a safe, well-established, tried-and-tested treatment. It’s probably true to say that implants, much like natural teeth, will last for as long as you care for them. Proper dental care, oral hygiene, and respecting the healing period are essential for the durability of dental implants.
A dental implant procedure can be done on a person who is in good health, has healthy gums, and has enough bone in his or her jaw to allow an implant to be placed in the jawbone.
Placing the implants requires a small operation. This can be carried out under local anaesthetic with sedation or with a general anaesthetic. You will not feel any pain at the time, but you may feel some discomfort during the week following the surgery. This is usually due to having stitches in place, and the normal healing period.
Our patients are astonished at how little pain is entailed by implantation. Our dental surgeons perform implants in Turkey with many years of experience.
When you get implants in Turkey, more than one dental professional may treat you at the dental clinic. The implants will be placed by our oral surgeons. A prosthodontist will make your crowns, bridges or dentures, which will look like natural teeth. The surgeon will coordinate your treatment with your prosthodontist to decide what implants to use, how many implants you need and where they should be placed.
It depends on the state of the bone in your jaw. At Dental Team Turkey we will arrange for a number of special tests to assess the amount of bone still there and create a treatment plan most suitable for you.
Yes. You can have any number of teeth replaced with implants – from one single tooth to a full set.
Cleaning around the teeth attached to the implants is no more difficult than cleaning natural teeth. Dental care and oral hygiene have to be continued the same way as with natural teeth.
After you get implants in Turkey, our dentists will give you instructions on how to look after them. They may give you some painkillers after the surgery – or check whether you have them at home – to take over the next few days if you need them. They will give you instructions on oral hygiene and dental care post dental implant procedure.
Most implants, the replacement teeth look exactly like natural teeth. The difference is even less noticeable in a full set.
If a patient is getting one or more dental implants placed, there must be a sufficient amount of bone in which to place the implants for the treatment to be successful and long-lasting. Bone grafting and sinus lift procedures are sometimes used to prepare the patient’s jaw to receive implants.
Our Dental Professionals at Dental Team Turkey take care of all bone grafting and sinus lift procedures in our private VIP dental clinic.

IN THE FIRST STAGE DENTAL IMPLANT TREATMENT
Implants are placed in the jaw bone and five days after the stitches are removed. (You need to be in town for 5-7 days) You will go on a course of antibiotics and painkillers. The discomfort is comparable to the removal of a few teeth. After the dental implant procedure, a healing period of a minimum 3 to 6 months is required before we do the second stage. You can delay this for one year. During this time you will wear a temporary denture or temporary crowns and bridges so that you will not walk around without any teeth.
SECOND STAGE DENTAL IMPLANT TREATMENT
After the healing period of 3 to 6 months, the implants are exposed and artificial teeth are Fabricated and attached to the implants at the dental clinic.
